The Times They Are a-Changin’

It’s absolutely amazing how much can change in such a little time; but whilst your experiencing the time you can hardly notice the changes. When you take a step back, and take a look at the last few months of your life, you realize how things have changed. Some of these changes for the better; others for the negative; all in all though – changes.

Six Months ago I was about to go on an outback to Central Australia. Six Months ago tomorrow was Toby Wrights 16th birthday. Six Months ago, things were looking crazy-awesome positive! I had larger reserves of money; I had been working at Image Direct for a mere 3 months; I had 10 days of outback, 14 days of school holidays, then 24 days in China, all within 2 months! School could go suck it in my opinion.

Although; Six months ago, I was lonely. Six months ago, I didn’t have a PS3, a 40′ tv, a Mac. Six months ago, I was in Year 10 at Baby Kurnai. Six months ago, I had quit football, deserting my team/coach and turning my back on Captaincy responsibilities. Six months ago I was 15, and unable to drive a car (with supervision).

Today I have a consolidated group of best friends. These people are my rock; they keep me stable, keep me going day to day. I rely on them a lot, more then any of us can understand. I was originally scared that our paths would fork with the transition to the GEP; but that was far from the truth – I’d say we’re all better friends now then we’ve ever been.

Bradleigh Holcombe, Jason Rendell, Toby Wright and myself (The original crew); have picked up long time SUPER BEST FRIENDS Michelle Prezioso and Suzie Moss as new members of the Crew; and also have long time friend, and recently turned Crew member, Breanna Downes-Smith; and the still-to-be-initiated Lauren Peters as the final addition to the Crew.

These are the people you’ll find me hanging out with at school; chilling in classes with; hanging over at KFC with; going to the movies with; going to parties with; hanging after school with; conversing with; EXISTING WITH; loving with; fighting with. If i’m ever doing something, the safest bet in existence is to put your money on these people being involved.

Being a RIDGEY DIDGE AUSSIE BLOKE, I don’t always tell Brad, Jason and Toby how much they mean to me. As gay as it sounds, I would feel lost and incomplete with the Crew, members new and old.

Time is constant. It doesn’t slow, it doesn’t speed up (unless you have a fully sick spaceship or something). Live every moment to the full, and never let someone undermine what you love doing – if you love doing it, it is always worth going the extra mile for. Don’t complain that you wan’t to be older, younger, smarter, prettier, skinnier, taller; work with what you have, improve on what you can improve, and live life in the now.

Stop worrying about the future/past and start worrying about the present. You can’t change the past as it’s already happened, and your future depends on the actions you take in the present.

You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone; don’t let the things you love get away.

Pithdog is back in business, and it’s a fucking fantastic feeling. <3 xx

Swummin’ Sunnin’ and Funnin’

Wow. Awesome. Cold. Rain. Slippery. Water.

Just got back from the best time I’ve ever had swimming in a pool. I think its “Best Time” points were multiplied by the fact that its only the second week of school for the year, and we already got an entire day off to go swim. Sweet :P Although, me and Takorii did have to ditch on a Advanced Maths SAC, but it was so worth it. So very, very, very…. Very much!

Alot of people were hesistant at first to go, a-swimmin’, but once the ballsier students jumped in and told everyone it was actually quite ‘warm’, everyone who was anyone shortly followed. Some people sat out the whole time. Seriously, who pays money to go swimming, then sits there reading a book, or watching an iPod. GTFO.

On the subject of the water; it wasn’t that cold. Infact, it was warmer then outside the pool. If you got out of the pool, you died of coldness, but only because of the fuckin’ wind! It was pretty damn awesome when it started raining, and we used a board shaped floating rubber thing as a roof!

Pithdog supports a portable and floating roof whilst Michelle and Suzie try to help.

There was also this awesome inflatable obstacle course. It was called ‘The Nessy’, pretty much a Loch Ness monster-ish blow up thingy. Haha. It was really fun, and Takorii was the first to reach the end, and gained the elusive prize of……. Chocolate! :D Everyone was getting to the end then trying to knock everyone else off and I reached the end once. They seem to knock off the bigger and more aggressive people first. Or maybe I just have horrible balance? You decide :P

The Ness Thing

The Ness thing. You had to run, then jump this log like thing. Then proceed to go through a hole, with a big cylinder shaped thing in your way. Then another cylinder thing, then the end. :D

It was all pretty awesome. The lifeguards gave me and Takorii free lollies to throw to everyone, and we got sausages with free drinks/icecream. I’m gonna finish up with a awesome, in-action shot of me kicking a football…. Haha. The pool water actually did a good job at taming my usually wild and defiant hair; kudos to chlorine.

In-Action Shot

An In-Action shot of me kicking a football. An AFL Football. Best sport ever; hands down. I like that shirt :D

Awards Nights

I just recently returned from my sisters awards night. She got a quiet achiever award, which I found very fitting for the person she is. It was a shame that she only got the one award though having to sit there for an hour and a half, with a increasingly numbing buttock, and an 8yr old child in the row infront getting restless. That child then proceeded to lie on the floor, and climb over the seats. Haha.

And every awards night I’ve been to, without fail, the principal, and sometimes other significant staff members, create a huge speech about the year. But don’t start cutting it short, even though half the audience has zoned out completely, and is wondering: “Wheres that breeze coming from? Nope there’s no windows… and I can’t see a air conditioner…. I wonder what it could be…. O wait, yeah I get it. The strangely shaped roof has some kind of gap in it. That not only explains the breeze but also the eery echo”, only to come down from the clouds to hear the principal say that the speech was the short version. SAY WHAT? I just spent the last 10 minutes trying to figure out where the goddamn breeze was coming from. :)

But they always get better after that. Our awards night was last thursday, the 10th of December. It seemed very unorganized this year, with most people not knowing what was going on then running up the steps to receive their prize. I took home alot more awards then expected, including the following: Achievement Award, Maths and Science competition awards (distinction and high distinction respectively) and the KLD Mathematics award, which apparently means I’m the best in the school at Maths, in Year 9. Ok….. Haha. Takorii got DUX second year running of course. Lets hope he spends the prize money getting a decent monitor.

All in all, our awards night was awesome, with great performances from Takorii and the rest of the band. Yeah Takorii plays bass. JEALOUS??? :P

Leaving…. :(

I’ve known for a while that a good friend, Zara Firmin, would be leaving to go to Germany on exchange. Yet you don’t really realize how much you miss someone till you know that you won’t see them for close to a year. Although, I’m sure for some older readers one year isn’t that big of a gap for not seeing someone, relatively to me. But when your used to seeing their smiling face every day at school, its hard to comprehend how they would ever not be there. It’s just like their having a day off school; you get that sad feeling when you look around at form group, at class, before school, and find their not there; except its every single day. Although she hasn’t officially left yet, the knowledge that I haven’t got a guaranteed chance of seeing her between now and January makes me sad.

Anyway, half the reason I created this blog was so she had a chance to catch up on things happening in my life, friends lives, and the goings-on at Kurnai. Heck, I might even give her a user account here so she can make her own informative posts. But thats only if she’s really, really luck :P

The other half of my reasoning to creating this grand blog, is that I LOVE writing about nonsensical shit. There is nothing better then sitting down for an hour, and typing about any random crap that comes to mind. I even write down random articles on my ipod touch, now thats dedication!

The weekend is now pretty much  over in Australia, but tomorrow, for me atleast, the holidays officially start. I say bring them on, I’m loving life currently :D
