Zombieland (2009)

I just recently finished watching ZombieLand. Quite a good movie; I went in to watch it thinking it was going to be bad, as Kayla said it wasn’t that good. But I was seriously blown away, it was a VERY good movie. Or maybe thats just my disturbing infatuation with any movie containing zombies. God I love zombie flicks so fucking much. *orgasmic noises*, huh what? O yeah, back to the review. Yes yes. Although, I don’t want to reveal many key plot points.

The setting is a Zombie Apocalypse, with the story unfolding across the USA.

First I will talk about the main characters, there is four of them and each is very different.

The first introduced is ‘Columbus’ (Each main character except one is called by a nick name), played by Jesse Eisenberg. He has a phobia of alot of things, especially clowns – he actually finds clowns scarier then zombies, and a zombie-clown? My God. He has a set of rules, that govern his continued survival in the zombie apocalypse. They range from the ‘Double Tap’ (shooting zombies a second time in the head to make sure of their death) to ‘Enjoy the Little Things’ (referenced to many times throughout the movie). His weapon of choice is a double-barreled shotgun.

Next came along the gun-totting, tough guy of the movie, ‘Tallahassee’, who’s only goal (besides surviving) is to find and eat the last twinkie left on the planet (played by Woody Harrelson). He gets very creative in his zombie killings, announcing some of them as “Zombie Kill of the Week”. Some of these include Banjo Head-Shots, and Grand Piano Flattening. His weapon of choice is anything that can inflict incredible amounts of pain.

Finally, the last two arrive in the story. Sisters ‘Wichita’ (Emma Stone) and ‘Little Rock’ (Abigail Breslin). Wichita is a cold hearted at times, and constantly tricks the boys out of their vehicles (and guns); but they all become friends, and love blossoms between two of the them (doesn’t it always?). Little Rock, as the name suggests, is a little girl (12 years old to be exact) – but is no pushover. She totes guns all throughout the film, and is quite the bad ass midget :D

They travel across the US, from the west towards the east, and end up in a amusement park.

Here are some quotes that I thought were meaningful and freakin’ sweet:

“You see? You just can’t trust anyone. The first girl I let into my life and she tries to eat me.” – Columbus

“Fuck this clown.” – Columbus

“Not bad for a whiney little spit-fuck.” – Tallahassee

“It’s amazing how fast the world can go from bad to total shit storm.” – Columbus

The movie has something for everyone; Violence, love, friendships, zombies zombies zombies (sorry), comedy, and an awesome array of firearms and vehicles. Hummers? Shotguns? ZOMBIES? Need I say more? Go watch ZombieLand already. And if you can’t for whatever reason, here’s the trailer.
