Swummin’ Sunnin’ and Funnin’

Wow. Awesome. Cold. Rain. Slippery. Water.

Just got back from the best time I’ve ever had swimming in a pool. I think its “Best Time” points were multiplied by the fact that its only the second week of school for the year, and we already got an entire day off to go swim. Sweet :P Although, me and Takorii did have to ditch on a Advanced Maths SAC, but it was so worth it. So very, very, very…. Very much!

Alot of people were hesistant at first to go, a-swimmin’, but once the ballsier students jumped in and told everyone it was actually quite ‘warm’, everyone who was anyone shortly followed. Some people sat out the whole time. Seriously, who pays money to go swimming, then sits there reading a book, or watching an iPod. GTFO.

On the subject of the water; it wasn’t that cold. Infact, it was warmer then outside the pool. If you got out of the pool, you died of coldness, but only because of the fuckin’ wind! It was pretty damn awesome when it started raining, and we used a board shaped floating rubber thing as a roof!

Pithdog supports a portable and floating roof whilst Michelle and Suzie try to help.

There was also this awesome inflatable obstacle course. It was called ‘The Nessy’, pretty much a Loch Ness monster-ish blow up thingy. Haha. It was really fun, and Takorii was the first to reach the end, and gained the elusive prize of……. Chocolate! :D Everyone was getting to the end then trying to knock everyone else off and I reached the end once. They seem to knock off the bigger and more aggressive people first. Or maybe I just have horrible balance? You decide :P

The Ness Thing

The Ness thing. You had to run, then jump this log like thing. Then proceed to go through a hole, with a big cylinder shaped thing in your way. Then another cylinder thing, then the end. :D

It was all pretty awesome. The lifeguards gave me and Takorii free lollies to throw to everyone, and we got sausages with free drinks/icecream. I’m gonna finish up with a awesome, in-action shot of me kicking a football…. Haha. The pool water actually did a good job at taming my usually wild and defiant hair; kudos to chlorine.

In-Action Shot

An In-Action shot of me kicking a football. An AFL Football. Best sport ever; hands down. I like that shirt :D

Awards Nights

I just recently returned from my sisters awards night. She got a quiet achiever award, which I found very fitting for the person she is. It was a shame that she only got the one award though having to sit there for an hour and a half, with a increasingly numbing buttock, and an 8yr old child in the row infront getting restless. That child then proceeded to lie on the floor, and climb over the seats. Haha.

And every awards night I’ve been to, without fail, the principal, and sometimes other significant staff members, create a huge speech about the year. But don’t start cutting it short, even though half the audience has zoned out completely, and is wondering: “Wheres that breeze coming from? Nope there’s no windows… and I can’t see a air conditioner…. I wonder what it could be…. O wait, yeah I get it. The strangely shaped roof has some kind of gap in it. That not only explains the breeze but also the eery echo”, only to come down from the clouds to hear the principal say that the speech was the short version. SAY WHAT? I just spent the last 10 minutes trying to figure out where the goddamn breeze was coming from. :)

But they always get better after that. Our awards night was last thursday, the 10th of December. It seemed very unorganized this year, with most people not knowing what was going on then running up the steps to receive their prize. I took home alot more awards then expected, including the following: Achievement Award, Maths and Science competition awards (distinction and high distinction respectively) and the KLD Mathematics award, which apparently means I’m the best in the school at Maths, in Year 9. Ok….. Haha. Takorii got DUX second year running of course. Lets hope he spends the prize money getting a decent monitor.

All in all, our awards night was awesome, with great performances from Takorii and the rest of the band. Yeah Takorii plays bass. JEALOUS??? :P
